2003 - Short contract at Eumetsat, the European Meteological Satellite Organisation. IT Support.

Receiving weather satellite images direct from space has been one of my hobbies, for many years. The first system I built was a handbuilt VHF receiver connected to a decoder and 32kb BBC computer which displayed the low resolution APT pictures. My current 32 000 000kb PC system receives Eumetcast:- Ku-band DVB-S2 data re-transmitted by Eumetsat from MSG, GOES, NOAA, Feng Yun, Metop, and Sentinel satellites. Looking at these images I often see things that have not even been mentioned on the news such as fires, sandstorms, and volcanoes The glaciers of Antartica are also amazing to look at.
